So, in today’s post we’ll be talking about “Why Friends and Family Don’t Buy”.
If you’ve ever run a business, you may have encountered a situation where your friends and family members weren’t as supportive as you’d have liked them to have been.
Here are 3 reasons why friends and family don’t buy:
#1: They have no money to buy. Some family members would love to support your business. But the truth is, they just don’t have the money to be purchasing from you on a consistent basis. Maybe they could buy from you in a one-off instance but to get them to buy from you continually when they don’t have much money may mean lowering your prices or just accepting that they can’t support in that way.
#2. They just aren’t that supportive. There’s a saying that goes, “If you want to know who your true friends are, start a business.” The truth is some friends and family members aren’t supportive of you. It may be hard to admit, but it’s true. And if that’s the case, you may have to accept that truth and find supporters outside of your friends and family.
#3. What you’re selling doesn’t help them in any way. Some friends and family would love to buy from your business. But even friends and family won’t continue to give to something that brings absolutely no benefit to them. If the products you’re selling can’t help or are of no use to friends and family, don’t be upset if they don’t buy from you. To expect them to continuously buy from your store would be torture.
